Negotiation Management and Introduction into Business Mediation

Mediation is the support provided in negotiations by a neutral third party. The starting point of any mediation activity is therefore a deep understanding of negotiations. The first module thus covers typical difficulties of intuitively conducted negotiations, the key factors of effective negotiating, typical negotiation dynamics, as well as concrete tools for process management. On this basis, the training then focuses on the role of a mediator in commercial disputes. Participants work through the full chronology of a standard mediation process and apply key intervention techniques in authentic simulations. They receive structured, individualized feedback from experienced faculty throughout the whole program.

Advanced Business Mediation

The second module focuses on the role of a mediator in commercial disputes. After an introduction to conflicts and methods of conflict resolution, the ideal‑typical sequence of a business mediation is developed in chronological order and intensively practiced using simulated mediation cases. During this process, participants are guided through the individual phases of a typical mediation procedure and, based on these phases, are introduced to the tools needed for successfully conducting mediation processes (particularly communication and visualization techniques, facilitation methods, structuring the procedure, etc.). Participants continue to receive personalized feedback from the trainers.

Time investment

The two modules of the mediation training program are conducted over two long weekends at a comfortable conference hotel near Munich Airport. We begin each session on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. and finish on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. On the remaining days, the course program starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m.
